Well our baby showed up at 12:01 am Sunday the 28th. Melissa had a kinda hard time. She had started cramping about 7:00pm Friday night. She said they didnt hurt but were more of uncomfortable. When I got up Saturday morning I went to get my nails done and then went and got the Build-a-bear that Melissa had asked for. I came back home and kept talking to her all morning. She told me they were hurting more but still not anything she couldnt stand. Then about 1:00 or so Debbie called me. She said that she had Melissa in the tub. She was hurting more and Debbie thought that she might should take her to the hospital and have her checked. Well about 3:00 I called and them and they were on the way to the hospital. Debbie called me about 3:30 or 4:00 and said that they were going to keep her. Since she was already overdue we figured they would keep her. Melissa told me they were alot harder. I guess about 4:00 or so her water broke. She was in a good amount of pain by this time. So now the phone marathon would begin. I am not sure about the times now because by this time I was so stressed. My child was hurting so bad and there was not a thing I could do from 12 hours away. Not a pleasant feeling. Brandi and Debbie kept me up to date. Bless them both. Brandi called I think about 8:30 or so and said that Melissa was running a fever and she was throwing up. They started her on an antibiotic. They were giving her oxygen by this time also. They were checking her and she still were not dilating. I think around 8:30 or 9:00 or so they finally decided to give her the epidural. She was still only dilated to a 1 and they normally wont give it to you until you are about a 4. They gave it to her and it knocked the pain out of her. She called me and the first words from her mouth were "Mamma I am pain free!!!!!" It felt like a ton of bricks were lifted off my chest. I was so scared for that kid. All mamma's know how bad this hurts and it isnt easy knowing your daughter is hurting that bad. The doctor told Melissa that wanted to monitor the baby's heart rate. If it shows any signs of dropping then they were going to have to do a c-section. Melissa wasnt dilating and they couldnt risk Khloe. So now we sit and wait. Brandi called about 11:00 or so and said they started the oxygen back on Melissa. Khloe's heartbeat was going up and down. Not real steady. Melissa's fever had dropped a little bit. I told her I was going to try and lay down for a little while. I had cried all nite and my head was pounding. She promised she would update me every hour or so. That was about 11:15. My phone rang at 12:04 am exactlly and Brandi said..."Mamma WE HAVE A BABY!!!!!" I dont know when I have ever heard Brandi that excited. I couldnt believe it. 45 minutes ago we were still dialted 1. Melissa told me that she told the nurse that she was feeling alot of pressure. The nurse came in to check her and the baby was crowning. Brandi said if Melissa would have had her legs in the stirrups the baby would have come right there in the bed. Man when Ms Khloe decided to come, she didnt waste a second. I am so glad that she is here and all are doing great. She weighs 6lbs 13ozs. 19 inches long. Well I am going to go for now. I have bags to pack. I have everything together for her but I have to get all of our clothes in the suitcase. We are going to watch the football game and then head out. We will prolly drive about 6 hours and then stop and sleep. Then we will drive the rest in the morning. We should get there about the time Melissa, Jake and Khloe come home. You look out baby girl, cause when Grandma gets there then I will be holding you for a while. I cant wait!! I am so excited. I love all of you! See ya real soon!!! |

Melissa went to the doctor yesterday. Her belly has dropped down, there was blood in her urine, she is swollen, but do you think she was dilating anymore? NNNNOOOOO Ms Khloe thinks she is going to stay in there for a while longer. Come on Khloe what are you waiting for. Last nite about 7pm Melissa started having some stomach cramps. Very little, she said the were just uncomfortable but not hurting. About 10 last nite I talked to her and she said that she was still having the cramps. I told her I do believe it is labor. Very begining of it. She said she started timing them. About 20 seconds long, about every 5 or 6 minutes apart. That is a start. She talked to her friend Stephanie who is an OBGYN Nurse and she told Melissa it is probably labor and not braxton hicks. She told Melissa that if they start getting any closer and they last about 40 seconds each then maybe go up to the hospital and get checked. So this morning she is still having them but they are a little stronger she says. But they have dropped further apart. She said she ffeels she will go to the hospital tonite. Oh this could be it. I went this morning and got my Khloe a build-a-bear that Melissa wanted. I didnt want a birth certificate with todays date. She wants one with Khloe's birthdate on it. So I explained to the lady at the store what I would like to do and she said she would print me one off for 9/27 thru 9/30. Well what a sweetheart she was!! She saved me from having a delima!(however you spell it) I have the 2nd truckload of stuff to bring with me when we go. Ronnie brought the first truck load when he and Tabby went last weekend. Now I just need a signal that she is in heavy labor and I am out of here. Ok I have to go finish this last load of laundry. I am trying to have everything done before she calls so all I have to do is help Granddad load the truck, (that could take awile) and we can scoot down the road. Ms Khloe, Grandma hopes to meet you this weekend. And definatly no later than next wednesday. I love you and Melissa and Jake also!!!! This could be it kids!! Lets all pray for good health!!!! |

Melissa went to the doctor last monday. 9/15/08. She is dilated to a 1. We are so hopeful that Khloe will decide to come out soon. Melissa has had a few girlie things happen but the doctors said it is from the stripping the doctor did to her cervix. She went to work on Wednesday and wasnt feeling good. She went home at lunchtime. On Thursday she went to work and again wasnt feeling real good. She broke out in a cold sweat. She said her shirt was wet. She was weak and just not feeling good. Her coworkeers gave her a couple crackers and some orange juice. She went home at lunchtime. Thursday night she went to the fair. She is hoping all the walking she is doing will make her go into labor. Ms Khloe isnt going anywhere until she is ready. Her boss called her Thursday night and told Melissa he would just see her after Khloe is born. I think she scared them. She went and had a pedicure on Friday. Someone told her that she has heard some women went into labor when they were getting a pedicure. But you know that didnt work. So today she was going to just rest. See if that works. Knowing Melissa she didnt just rest all day. Ronnie and Tabby went down there today to visit. He brought her the stroller, carset, bassinett, and crib. Now Ms Khloe you have your bed. If you were afraid to come out because you didnt have anywhere to sleep then you can come out now. Uncle Ronnie brought your bed. Grandma and Granddad bought your high chair today. I also got you a few dolls. I really hope you come soon. We are all so excited about meeting you. We want to hold you and love you. It would be good for you to c ome down while Uncle Ronnie is there. He would be excited to see you. I have to go now baby. You think about coming out in a few days. I love you Khloe and Melissa and Jake. |

Just a few thoughts |

Melissa went to the doctor today. Her cervix is thinned out. She hasnt dilated yet. I can tell by talking to her that she is so ready for you Khloe. I am getting anxious for you to get her too. The 15th is the full moon. I know its an old wives tale but it worked when I was pregnant. All three of mine were born on the full moon. I hope she is born then. That would mean that we only have 8 days. I am getting all of your stuff ready to bring to you Khloe. Grandma has so many pretty things for you. I bought you 2 very nicde hand blown glass things this weekend. Well one is for you and one is for Mommy. Everyone is so anxious to meet you. It wont be long now. Your time to enter this world is getting very close. I cant wait!!! I have to go eat dinner now. I love you very much Baby. I love you also Melissa and Jake. |

The closer the time gets, the more excited I get! Melissa goes to the doctor today. Well actually she went 1 hour ago and I havent heard from her yet. After today we start going once a week. We only have 4 weeks and 3 days including today. To say I am excited is such an understatement. This is as hard as waiting for Christmas when I was a kid. She got the nursery done except for a few more bee trails I think. She should be posting pictures soon. Uncle Ronnie and Tabby (Uncle Ronnie's girlfriend) will be heading down there around Sept 20th. He is going to bring the crib, stroller, car seat, bassinett and the little table and chairs. Hopefully she and Jake can get all this stuff done before my princess gets here. Khloe, grandma is very excited and anxious just waiting for you to get here. 4 more weeks for you to cook and then you can make your grand entrance. I am still looking for you a beautiful doll. I will find her before we come to see you in Sept. I love you very much!!! I love Melissa and Jake also!! |
